Double Bass Myers Pickup with flexible mic & preamp

HA! Nothing personal aimed at you Steve. I'm just making the point of mic vs piezo amplification. Some basses are either soft volume wise or not set up for strong acoustic volume. It's not always the fault of the player.

I found that a good positioning for the mic is to clip it on the top of the tailpiece with the mic facing the under part of the bridge as close to the body as possible. You have to request a 6 inch gooseneck and the foam cover. I find this is a great position and you don't get any rattling as...

It just mutes the strings below the bridge. I have some bad wolf tones down there and stopping those vibrations really helps tighten up the sound a bit.

I have now done several months of gigs occasionally using the Myers multi instrument pick up and I have to say I am still very much satisfied and knocked out by this product and design. I'd like to also mention and recommend trying their ultralight instrument cord. It's very slim and...

Unfortunately I don't know if I can measure how loud I can turn it up before it feeds back. I don't know if I understand how to do that. I generally don't play in groups that are very loud, but I guess loud is a subjective term in music. All I can say is the few situations that I've played in...

Thank you so much for sharing your contact mic experimentation results! I absolutely love this kind of stuff!! I too do this when I am testing a new product. First thing I want to say is you get a great sound out of your bass and your pitch is excellent! When you first said to me, "Have you...

Not really. Are they the same design as the Myers - amp ready, preamp, small and clip on?

I've honestly never tried the DPA through an amp or any mic for that matter. Mostly because it would require a preamp w phantom power, an adapter etc. It just seems a little complicated. I use the DPA when playing large concert venues/jazz clubs when I'm working with a sound engineer. It always...
