I have now done several months of gigs occasionally using the Myers multi instrument pick up and I have to say I am still very much satisfied and knocked out by this product and design.
I'd like to also mention and recommend trying their ultralight instrument cord. It's very slim and streamline taking excess weight off of the pick up connected onto the bass. I was looking for something slimmer and not having any luck but then I just happened to see it on the Myers site, he (Gregg Myers) really has a lot of products!
Also, I have found an even better placement for the pick up on my bass. I like that it's more concealed, out of the way, The cord and the pickup don't touch the top and no risk of any rattles.

It just mutes the strings below the bridge. I have some bad wolf tones down there and stopping those vibrations really helps tighten up the sound a bit.Neal, What's the purpose of the velcro stripe on the strings?
OK, thanks. that's what I thought. My Rev Solo pickup (from Upton) came with a piece of rubber that they recommend for that very same reason. It just mutes the strings below the bridge. I have some bad wolf tones down there and stopping those vibrations really helps tighten up the sound a bit.
Still finding this unit interesting. The Neal Miner demo is wonderful..though it's not clear if the audio is 100% amp, or if the recording was made with another mic in front of the bass and amp combo..
Here is a sound clip of me recording the Myers pickup directly into my Edirol Field Recorder. This will give you a completely pure sample of just the pickup. In my promo video I had an EV 635 A mic on the GK amp as the only recorder. I hope this gives you a good idea of how clean and clear the Myers is!
so which mic exactly is everyone using? i see several on the website, and none of them have the clip like Neal is using in the video. they all have some sort of suction cup which im not really interested in
I bought this pickup and have been experimenting with it. any tips? i feel as though it doesn't pick up the sound of my bass, even though when I talk into it it makes noise. The one I got didn't come with that foam cover where the mike is. would that be necessary?
You have to be playing the bass in a way that produces good acoustic tone in order for the microphone to amplify properly.
