Oh My - Overpricing and false advertising hits a new high (low?)

Since my first bass was a J.B. Player, I have a soft spot for them. Yeah, many consider them horrible knockoffs, but I still own that first p-bass, and it has a gorgeous-feeling neck and sounds just fine. I have a search function on Ebay so any J.B. Player listings get sent to me, but only...

Unobtainium Ovation Magnum II pickguard replacement (plus, finding the "mojo")

Disclaimer - I am not much of a repairman, so this really is just a pickguard replacement (but I did it!). I post this because it's a fairly rare and unique pickguard, so someone may find it interesting. And maybe at least one other person will want to change the same thing sometime in the...

    So it's a 1964, except...

He knows what he's got. It originated as a 1964 Fender P bass...though the body is from the '70's...he thinks...and the neck is from 1999. But it originated as a 1964 Fender bass. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/987335117521493/ He doesn't want to sell it, and it's the best P...

Notice how it's the BASS player who first springs into action...

...though, wisely, he first gently sets his bass down. AND, naturally, anytime there's gear to move, the lead singer takes off...

Large, larger, largest? I thought I had some big bridges, but...

While I like all sizes, I especially love me a chunky bridge, like on my G&L... ...or my Fender Precision Plus... ...but thought my Ovation had the largest... ....until I saw this Traben Array Attack bass listed today on my local Craigslist. Yikes! I don't really like it myself...

For sale on Facebook - the smoothest bass...

...and it probably has a "warm" sound, as well. Seller calls it a "Furbird." There's even an audio recording on the ad. The fur may offend some, but it's possible it's fake fur (would that mean the seller has to remove the headstock sticker 🤣?)...

Double Bass 1980's GK200 MB refurbish

Probably because the 200MB was my first combo amp in the 1980's, I fell in love with the sound. So when I started playing in the 00's after a long layoff ( I am strictly electric bass, by the way), I saw them for sale occasionally, so snapped them up for under $100 each and had them immediately...

Can I get some songs about moths?

I play this in one of my bands, and it is very well received. Great lyrics, too.

Once again, Mighty Mite does it right!

I read Boog's thread from several weeks back about Mighty Mite providing him with some G& bridge screws and springs with much interest. https://www.talkbass.com/threads/mighty-mite-delivers.1687902/ Well, I have an '81 L-L000 that is missing a spring, and the best replacements I could find...

What's the Best Bass Deal You've Ever Found?

In 2015, when I was just getting started (I'd played when younger, but never played out). I responded to a Craigslist ad for an amp. The seller was a basement musician with lots of instruments (but mainly piano) who recorded himself, but didn't play in front of people. We talked about the amp...

    EB-0 1960 Case Banjo Tuners

The bottom part is 2 1/2", and the top is at least 1" (see pictures), so I assume 3 1/2" deep when closed? Here are many more pictures. There are also two cushions that rest on the strings and bridge, as shown in pictures, and a neck holder that is 2 1/2" from the bottom, and 2" closer to the...

    EB-0 1960 Case Banjo Tuners

Is this what my Gibson case is for? I bought it for a Ripper (didn't have the bass with me at the time, and a TB member told me it was old/new stock for a Ripper, but it didn't fit). I wrote up the following TB thread with pictures (scroll to beginning of thread for many pics) , but never...

What is a female bass, and...

...where exactly is this Craigslist posting headed? BE CAREFUL - I'm not looking to get this thread deleted with the obvious(?) answers. I just hope this ad pertains to fish and not music. https://albany.craigslist.org/com/d/saratoga-springs-female-bass-wanted/7921125849.html

An $8 "fretless bass/guitar abomination" (their wording) for sale...

Even those with large collections probably don't have one of these! I'm not sure their description is going to help sell it, but maybe someone sees something in it that I don't. On the plus side, it definitely is fretless, the routing has conveniently been done for you, and it's already marked...

I Discovered An Exciting New Musical Genre!

Unfortunately, the company is also aware that the dry winter conditions have led to my basses having some fret issues:
