Large, larger, largest? I thought I had some big bridges, but...

While I like all sizes, I especially love me a chunky bridge, like on my G&L...

...or my Fender Precision Plus...

...but thought my Ovation had the largest...

....until I saw this Traben Array Attack bass listed today on my local Craigslist. Yikes!

I don't really like it myself (the bridge itself looks rather wimpy, though expansive), but it does grab one's attention.

What other "large" bridges come to mind, "chunky" or otherwise?

Love the Magnum! I didn't really care for the Trabens, the ultra-large bridge plate didn't seem to me like it could contribute much. On some models, I recall they weren't actually attached to the functional bridge parts (so just decoration).

The Ovation, on the other hand, defines BEEFY!

In terms of mass I don't think the bridge on the T-40 and T-45 can be beat. iirc it's about a pound of cast steel.

I really like the look of that one, but I'd like it a lot more if they routed the body and recessed it flush. That does not look comfortable, for playing over the bridge p'up.

As I remember the bridge on my '72 Rick 4001 seemed pretty substantial, and it didn't get in the way of my playing, unlike the cover on the neck p'up.

I absolutely cannot stand the Traben bridges. Even if it was functional… I couldn’t get behind it due to how “fugly” they are.

Fender made a thing called "The Claw" in the early 80's which was basically a huge chunk of brass with bridge saddles attached.

I used to own an ATK for a while. As I remember it, that big bridge plate really did add something to the tone.

I remember lusting after a Traben back when I started playing, but I don't think they were ever sold in Europe?

I had never seen a Traben Array Attack until a couple of days ago. Now I've seen two. There's a black one for sale locally on FBMP.
