I play a Bassman 500 through a Neo 115 - in fact just loaded them into the car for today's gig! I love the sound I get, it seems ideal for the blues/rock band I play in. Also, killer looks - does any amp look better than the bassman? All part of the punter-experience.

There's a photo of my bass with the Hosco saddles on p14 of this thread. They look the same as the Wilkinson GOTOH in the link above.

You can replace the saddles with Hosco compensated saddles, to preserve the look of the bass.

Another vote for the LMB-3. I have this always-on on my board and it gives complete reassurance that if I overhit a string the sound won't be distorted. I've tried several compressors and find this is a much more practical solution.

I've fitted a Curtis Novak pickup to my MM, it sounds great. My view on upgrades is, for what it's worth: don't do anything to a precious bass like this that can't be reversed - don't wreck a piece of important music heritage.

Interesting post about Thundertrons. I have fitted a Thunderblade in my Junior Jet and can confirm it works really well, although I have also fitted a Schaller bridge with 18mm spacing which might contribute.
