Alright, I'm new with a Musicmaster, got this 78', and I'm loving it!

Thank you. Would you happen to have a link to the one you’d recommend? You can replace the saddles with Hosco compensated saddles, to preserve the look of the bass.
Hi Musicmaster family.
Hope you won't mind a few quick questions re: bridge upgrades. There were some recent posts on this topic, and I find myself tempted to do something along these lines (e.g., Hipshot vintage replacement, Hosco saddle replacements on the stock bridge, Albridge bridge, etc.).
But I wonder how worthwhile these types of upgrades really are.
And now the questions part...
1) How "off" do people find the intonation on the Musicmaster? My 78 is not perfect, but never seemed to pose a serious problem for me. Would the move to 4 adjustable saddles provide dramatic improvements?
2) Are the replacement bridges lighter than the original? I can't find any weight info online for the original, although I see that the Hipshot and Albridge reportedly weigh around 4ish ounces. Weight savings would be an attractive benefit for me.
3) Which string spread (.669 vs. .708) is correct? Hipshot offers both, Albridge is .708 (18mm) - very confusing.
Thanks in advance for any helpful comments you may have to offer - greatly appreciate it!
Best,
Dango
With Thomastik short scale flats, my intonation is perfect with the original bridge and saddles. It not, I would have considered replacing it.Hi Musicmaster family.

I bet there is a Mustang bass club you could enjoy…I love short scales basses, but this music master version is definitely not my cup of tea. With a 6 pole pickup (for 4 strings?) - a stratocaster pickup -
To me, the split pickup version is much better.
But, that's only my opinion ...
Who makes that bridge? And the pick guard? Great looking axe!

Oh, and can I be part of the club? 100% stock '77 MM.
