Be one with the mud, embrace it! Barkless, I couldn't agree with you more... In fact, I'm exploring my inner Felix Pappalardi and trying to "extract" more mud from my EB-3's. I've started a new EB-3 project to do just that!

I'm putting together an EB3 from an Epiphone body/neck. From there, I may go stock pups, rewound pups or CHOKED / CAPPED stock controls. I read the Mike Watt mods and I like the way he just got what he wanted and put it in. That being said I WANT TO KEEP / ENHANCE THE LOWS !!!!!

I'm currently struggling with this same issue with the Epiphone TBird Pro 4. I've had mine for 9 months and am finding "sound issues" arise, since I've compared it to other rigs. Wood Workmanship is REALLY fine. I think overall size is something to consider also, but its at the top of my list...
