I was 14 then. I think I was probably playing a lot of scales. Random tunes. Pretty much the same thing I'm doing now, 6 years into playing, but at a less advanced level.

I've never been hit and I've turned out fine. I don't think my mom ever wanted me to view her as an authority figure, like a teacher or something. She just wanted me to view her as a friend. Worked for me.
