It can be illuminating to use a spectral ananlysis tool on famous recordings. Going note by note on the bassline will really reveal how "out" even the greats were (especially in jazz) a lot of the time.

i know Mark Diamond (denver area bassist) uses a swordtail and completely swears by it. one of his pickups is a magnetic one (not sure which brand) and the other is a full circle if im not mistaken.

if the strings don't come with them i usually don't bother. ive never noticed a difference in sound with or without them when ive done some experiments on my own.

I can't deny that I love my Double Four; it works really well for such a tiny amp, I just don't think it will give you the bass you can feel in your body (although I admittedly have never pushed it to the limit).

both the Traynor and PJB are great amps but pound for pound dollar for dollar i think one of the better options on the market is the newish (last 5 years or so) Fender Rumble amps. lighter than they look, loud, easy to find and have great tone imo. you could easily save some of the $500 if you...

no first hand knowledge but a bass can fit in a fiat 500 so i am certain either of those cars should work
