    Old peavey century 120

It's the 120 instead of the 200 But looks exactly the same as the one you have.

    Old peavey century 120

No foot switch. It wouldn't of mattered anyway, the Jack was disconnected from the board. Putting it in constant distortion mode. Even with the distortion dial all the way down, it still was distorting. But last night I soldered a wire from the Jack to the pin on the circuit board (where it...

    Old peavey century 120

Working on a Peavey century 120 bass series amp head. While clean the pots on this amp, I noticed the boost input jack (have no idea what it's for) and the foot switch input jacks were not wired to anything. Found a picture of a complete circuit board online and can see where they should be...

Name a bass that really surprised you?

A Brawley is my main bass, @scottbass. I've had it for 6 years now and will never let it go! It is not a neckthru but it does play like butta. The pickups, tuners, and nut were rather low quality so I replaced them. Wish I could find one of the neckthru models also, would snatch it up in a...

Is Wearing Sunglasses On Stage Douchey?

I've thought about wearing them. I've found myself trying to engage with a fan and completely lost where we were in a song.....1/2 measure later, I'm back. (one of the worst feelings, plus all 4 guys snapping there head in my direction) Also, I play with my eyes closed a lot. I think it would...

    Hartke... arrg

I run a Hartke LH1000 into an XL115 on top of a XL410. I run it bi-amped, thus negating the phase issue. It can be done, and sound great! my 115 is just fine.

Agressive technique or just a badly set bass?

I can get the same sound by dialing up the treble roll off on my bass. I usually have it all the way down because i play a lot of reggae. But when we play some rock tunes i need that 'string attack' sound, i dial it up a bit. If your job in a gig isn't in jeopardy, i tell them to eat it!

Agressive technique or just a badly set bass?

I kinda dig it! I don't really hear 'fret noise'. I think you have the treble on your guitar, or amp up a little bit. Are you in a band? Is that who is giving you a hard time?

    Reggae Bassists Club!!!!

My band plays a wide variety of stuff, but we have a lot of 311, Rebelution, Sublime, Mad Caddies, and we also transform other stuff to reggae! I LOVE IT! I play a Brawley 4 string with upgraded electronics and tuners. Rig consists of a Hartke LH1000, XL115 on top of a XL410. The...
