    G&L Club Part 7

Personally, I love mine. Mine is a 2009, and I've had it about 2 years now. I'm running LaBella flats on it and it sounds great. I prefer the P-style body shape over the J-style, though I know that not everyone feels the same.

Does anyone remember the old TalkBass?

Sounds like you're talking about VW Vortex. (if I'm allowed to say that here). That's exactly how they were, a very active forum, probably the top one for VW-related stuff, but today... crickets. With TB, certain things seem easier, and some things not so much. I can generally find what I'm...

Sorry, I am not a delivery service.

I do not deliver, and no, you can't come to my house (unless it's a big piece of furniture or something). I will gladly meet you somewhere in public, but that's it. I don't trust most people nowadays.

5 String, odd B string sound

Thanks for you input @vindibona1 . I think seperate strings are next on my list of things to try.. The Dunlop .045 to .130 tapered strings didn't make that much of a difference (I only installed the B string), so I think I'll look into individual strings that are unwrapped near the bridge...

5 String, odd B string sound

I had a set of Dunlop .045 to .130 tapered strings delivered this morning so I’m heading to my bassment to string them up and see how much difference there is.

5 String, odd B string sound

Well, after string through the bridge, I take the string 3 fingers past the post, bend it 90 degrees, cut the excess off leaving 1/2" to 3/4" that then goes into the post. When winding, I make sure the string stays below the one above it on the post. After tuning the string, I push down an...

    Bluetooth Page Turner

Greetings. I've replaced all my songs I had on paper w/ the Songbook Pro app on my iPad. I'm interested in a bluetooth page turner that works well. Bonus points if it fits on a pedal board! Anyone use one? Any input? Got a link or something I can look up? I really want to be able to...

5 String, odd B string sound

Well , I guess a bit of experimentation may be necessary? I found a set of Dunlop strings w/ a tapered B. At $28 it’s worth a shot. Going to look for a separate D’Addario tapered B as well.

    Bug Out Bass Gear

Sorry you (and all the others) have to deal with this. Generally the worst I have to deal with is the very occasional tornado (rare) or frigid cold accompanied with snow (unfortunately all too common). Personally I'd have a hard time leaving the Mesa stuff behind.

5 String, odd B string sound

I had a hard time searching for something like this (or I'm just plain stoopid using search), so I thought I'd ask the question. Mods - please move or delete if necessary. I recently acquired a Ibanez SR405 that needed a bit of work (link HERE). I purchased a set of D'Addario nickel XL165...

Why use a cab sim? Or am I just doing it wrong?

I am not a pro by any means and my playing is just with friends/family, or solo in my bassment, playing mostly classic rock and some country. I wanted a cabsim that I could play around with and experiment with a bit. I looked around a while and finally ended up geting a DSM Noisemaker Deluxe...
