Send it back. It ain’t worth all the trouble to tune it up and throw time and/or money and/or your own labor into it. Find a good feeling used bass at a shop or on Craigslist/Facebook so you can try it out. Just my $0.02 but it’s the principle of the thing 💥

Used bass for $2-300 plus a $100 used practice amp. No need to spend a stack until they start gigging seriously. Even then….deals to be found. Have them go to musicgoround.com - hopefully there’s a store nearby but if not, they ship and have a huge selection of used stuff.

So, speaking of the FX Blend knob, here’s another weird thing: I use an Ibanez UE-405 multi fx rack and when I had it thru the FX patch, if I turned the blend knob all the way wet, the signal dropped significantly- say, by 30%. Sounded fine with the blend knob anywhere from 10 to 2 o’clock...

Recently bought an SWR working man’s 12 combo amp. It’s been great so far, reminding me of my old SWR 350 head I had back in the days… I put it through a long rehearsal yesterday and the limiter came on quite a few times. Wondering if this is cause for concern or not…part of me says it’s fine...

The Acoustic combos are pretty nice. I'd err < slightly > toward more power....E.G. if you like the sound of an 8" speaker combo, may as well pay a few quid more and get the 12" driver in case you start playing with a friend or 2. Acoustic, and the newer Fender Rumble series are much better...
