This guy claims to have Jaco's bass for sale

Yeah, I just noticed that. I had just remembered seeing a similar bass and posted the picture prematurely. Sorry about that. Possible that the neck was swapped at some point? I know, I know...I doubt it's authentic too. It would be really something if it was somehow authentic. I guess it's...

This guy claims to have Jaco's bass for sale

I have no idea how valid his story is, but is it possible that this could be the same bass?

    Later lives of former bandmates

My former bandmates (there have been way too many to count) range from becoming surgeons to being homeless, and everything in between. One notable former bandmate became rather successful as the lead singer in a band called "Staind". I played with Aaron Lewis for about 8 months, back in 1989...

    Vintage G&L Club

Here is my 1981 L2000. Its one of my "go to" basses. It weighs a ton, but I love everything about it.

    Why are Alembics so expensive?

I am wondering this too. While I could never afford a new Series bass, a number of years ago, I picked up a 1977 Series I. I have neck-thru Warwicks, a Modulus Q4, plenty of Fender-ish basses (including a 1959 Precision), a Rickenbacker 4003, and others, but nothing even comes close to the...

    8" Celestion 32ohm speakers - Rare

Thank you, spego, for the quick response. These may be just what I'm looking for. If you still have 2 of them left next Friday (my next payday), barring any unforeseen emergencies, I will take them.

Would these be suitable replacement speakers for a first edition SWR Baby Blue?

Post a picture of your current bass!

My beloved '77 Alembic Series 1.

    Craigslist '59 P

The story sounds quite interesting, except for the fact that Earl Van Dyke was a piano player for Motown, not a drummer. Comparing this to my original '59 P bass, I think this MIGHT be an original finish. But I am just a lucky owner, not a bonafide expert.

    Flamboyant Fretless

Personally I love Jaco's playing. I do feel that especially for and at the time he was a phenomenon. I play mostly fretted bass in my current band but will pull out the fretless from time to time depending on how appropriate it is for a given song. While I love Jaco and have listened quite...

Bands that sound much better live than on recordings?

+1000. Like them or not, they epitomize the true spirit of live music IMO.

What song sums up Rush for you ?

For me it would definitely be Limelight. That's the song that hooked me.
