Overdrive and Fuzz in one pedal

Dave Hall's VT2 Twin Bass could be another option. Link Removed You can get light to heavy overdrive with the blue channel and if you crank up the gain and OD on the red channel and engage the colour switch you're well into fuzz territory. You can then toggle between the two. I picked up a...

    Ash Body Tone

I have a 2010 Am Dlx P. I've just measured and the distance from the nut to the centre of the D/G side of the pickup is 28.8", so it's 5/16" FURTHER from the nut than what bdplaid cites as the classic P bass pickup position. So there would appear to be a 10/16" difference between the position...

Pics or it doesn't exist, huh?

Being right-handed I will try to derive some satisfaction from imagining the brutal neck-dive that a 5 string ASAT must suffer from ;) (But it's still a thing of beauty and I'm sure it sounds great :D)

    what's your biggest effect pedal?

Same for me. It does take up a lot of space, but I like what it does.

    P bass in jazz music?

It's what Dave Holland played with Miles at the Isle of Wight festival in 1970.

Tony Levin's stompboxes for the 2015 King Crimson UK tour

Just back from seeing KC here in Brighton. Centre front row seat in a small theatre. Quite magnificent. The mix was naturally drum-heavy so close to the stage (about 15 feet from Bill Rieflin's bass drum), but it was wonderful watching him, Gavin Harrison, and Pat Mastelotto at such close...

    G&L L2000 or M2000

This isn't mine - my L2000 definitely isn't for sale! But as you're in the UK, this is an absolute steal. They're great basses and I have no hesitation in recommending them. Invalid Link Removed

    Double Bass NS EUB megathread

Thanks for that. I guess it's a worthwhile upgrade which I'll get round to doing sooner or later anyway, but if anyone has put Belcantos on a stock NXT 4 let me know how it turned out for you.

    Double Bass NS EUB megathread

I'm thinking of putting Belcantos on my NXT. I bought it secondhand and I think the E A & D strings are still the stock ones. Don't know what the G is - it has no silk and bows a bit more easily than the others although the tone's rather nasal. What I want to know is whether the stock NXT...

Labella 1954 flats on a squier VM jazz?

FWIW I had a set of LaBella 760FS flats on my Squier CV Jazz for 3 years and never had any issues. It has, by a long shot, the skinniest neck of any of my basses but was completely stable with these flats - didn't even need to make any particularly drastic trussrod adjustments.

Artist-Used Basses you want to own

I know that no one has mentioned Pino yet, but if it's your dream to own one of his basses (and you have VERY deep pockets) then look no further! Invalid Link Removed...

    Octaver decisions

I've only heard good things about the Aggy, but I've got the MXR Bass Octave Deluxe on my board - also true bypass - and I really rate it. Two flavours of octave that you can mix to your choice and it tracks really well.
