Octaver decisions

I recently purchased an EBS Octabass. I didn't pay much attention to the fact that this is the non-true bypass version, but I've since gotten the Idiotbox Blasteroid fuzz pedal which I really love, but which doesn't work correctly with anything but passive basses and true bypass pedals before it (kind of a diva). Now, I really like the tone of the EBS so I'm leaning towards getting the true bypass version, but the tracking is a little bad for anything larger than a half note. So, I'm wondering if there are other true bypass octavers that sound as organic and maybe track a little bit better.

I found the Aguilar Octamizer to track and sound much better than the Octabass. Great pedal.

This is what I was leaning towards as an alternative option. I really like their TLC compressor which is saying a lot given I had up to that point not found one I liked even a little bit.

As far as the POG, I think I've got that kind of sound covered with my Bass Whammy.

I keep on wanting to like my MuTron octave divider clone more than my OC-2 but the Oc-2 is just a bit better at doing that warm organic synthy sound. I keep on meaning to get an Oc-2 that is True bypass modded but I haven't gotten around to it yet. That said with 10 pedals in a chain it's not a bad thing to have a buffer towards the beginning.

Once some room opens up on my board I will definitely keep both octave pedal on there for a while.

I have an Aguilar Octamizer and an MXR BOD.

The Aguilar sounds very warm to me. It tracks extremely well, and it's well built. I really like it.

The MXR...is well built.

That's why the Octamizer is on my main board and the MXR is not.

No love for the newer Octabass? I've found it to track pretty well and a decent low end sound. Ive not used it extensively, just in a few practices, clicking it on with an LS2 when playing the upper fretboard.

Why the LS-2?

I like to blend a dry tone into most effects. I don't like using blend on pedals, i prefer to have them all on full. And then i tweak the ls2 for certain things. Some effects like fuzz may sound cool on the upper frets but i want to keep a low end, so have the fuzz and octave on separate loops on the ls2 to do so.

Its an experimental setup that I've not used enough yet to decide whether or not its worth while.

But either way I like driving a faint clean signal under effects. I'm currently building a pedal board so only time will tell if this is useable or not, but at the moment I'm liking it and the Octabass does what I put it in there to do.
