just got round to fitting a new Bridge to mine, after I noticed it was suffering a bridge shape on the bridge :) got it from China for £20 no problems so far, the good news is according to a knowledgeable chap on Basschat this is typical of Matsumoku Basses

Yep, there's a world of difference between playing at home on your own than in a band situation, so much so I don't bother about my tone at home when I'm practising, it's pointless

trouble is unless you're going through the PA as well you'll be firing straight at the ceiling instead of the crowd, but on the other hand bass is not supposed to be very directional, guess that's why marshall stacks are popular if you've got a roadie to do your lifting for you
