    I keep looking at Aria SB and Kawai basses from the 80's...

    It's very nice with a pair of Funk Fingers on the plucking hand, or with distortion. It came with those modifications and I don't think I would have had the whammy installed if I was building a bass. I imagine there was some major routing involved to the body to fit it in there.

    Removing a cheap finish on a rare bass

    Do not sand the plastic body if you can avoid it. The scratches will never come out to the original surface finish. You can restore it any way you want- it’s not a museum piece or sacred relic. Good luck

    It's been my experience that only the finest players and individuals play 1970s era Hagstrom Swede basses. I'll discuss it with the others and we'll see if we can allow you to have one.
