I'd say the best thing you could do in your position is to go and try different bows out. It would be bad to order a bow online, get it home and find you are not satisfied with it. If you cannot make any trips to try out different bows, call different places to send you some bows to try out...

On pricing I would say if you could fix it up, polish it, and get some upgrades to it, it could sell for $500-1000 for an okay students bass. That is, if you fix it and add a few upgrades to make it look nice.

Sounds like a factory bass. Most luthiers would have some sort of marking that it was made by them. And you said it was a plywood?
