That's where the intonation is perfect. No tan lines and the pickguard installs perfectly so it must have been in this spot since it was made in rhe 90s.

Too much history to do another refinish. I think it should look the way it was when stolen. Most footage we see of Paul using the bass was as it is now minus the damage. A refinish will take away its Beatles historical significance.
