One of the new Sterling SUB 5's. Bought new for $319 (mint green, maple board) includes a Gator Gig Bag and a cheap instrument cord. And was set up before it was shipped.

Just buy a Sterling SUB. You get the Stingray sound on a budget. I just purchased a Mint Green One for only $319 and it came with a Gator Gig bag and a cheap instrument chord. Thin k of money you would have spent on Pups a Pre, and installation.

For me it depends on the gig. I do it by class/type of bass needed. Bass with Humbuckers/Soap Bars, or some type of JB. Sometimes it may be soap bars, MM style Bass. My number one go to with Humbuckers/Soap Bars is a MTD Kingston KZ5. Go to 4 str JB is a Geddy Lee Jazz, MM is a Sterling SUB5. 5...
