I was there as well. Trying to find out how I can fund two 4x8 cabs. That rig was nice.

IMO, not at all. Sounded better and less harsh. A pic of my Rig. I also have the BH .5K head.

Didn’t attend NAMM this year, but I’m all in on the Trickfish gear. I have a Bullhead 1K, two SM210V cabs (my setup for my R&B gig) and two SM112 cabs. I use one or two of those on my jazz gig. This stuff has been a revelation to me. Start flat and tune to the room, headroom to spare, and the kind of sound you would expect given the Mike Pope pre. Really, anything you want. The cabs are perfect, and the head is the best I’ve ever used, and like a lot of you guys, I have gone through tons of gear. If you’re serious about your music and your gear, you owe it to yourself to check this stuff out. With the death of Richard Ruse, I feel that TF may be regrouping a bit, but all indications are that they will carry on. I consider this gear the best in class. (And I’m also not affiliated with TF.)

They are carrying on, And actually I am their first artist to change one of the speaker set-up .. The 2x12 (600watt at 4ohm) will be no more... Instead I talked with their speaker tech and we decided to switch out the original speakers with, 400watt 8ohm drivers... So now I have 2 2x12's that handle 800watts at 8ohm. Now I can drive the bh1k to its potential .. It won't overload the cabs with together or separate .. And yes it's amazing how it sounds flat.. It really allows for making tone adjustments from the bass' pre-amp/eq

Very cool! Question, though. Would those 400w drivers be either 4 or 16 ohm, resulting in an 8-ohm 2x12, or are they 8-ohm drivers, resulting in a 4-ohm 2x12?

Either way you slice it, I totally agree that Trickfish gear is top tier stuff. I love mine, and I am glad they are continuing on, despite the tragic loss of Richard.

It's an 8 ohm can now... I physically went to Anthony's house (speaker tech for TF and line 6 consultant) we switched out the old speakers with some eminence... He did all the wiring and impedance testing .. So instead of it being a 600watt 4ohm 2x12... It's now 800watt 8 ohm 2x12...I'm playing the rainbow in Hollywood on the 26th...I'll be using only 1 of the cabs. Their stage isn't very big, nor is the room .. I'm also not the typical TF artist .. I slap and tap, but I apply those techniques to punk/metal/rock... So I needed just a little more air push than most jazz scenarios .. My drummer hits hard and my guitar player is loud

Got it. So either 4-ohm or 16-ohm drivers. :thumbsup:

I have a .5K, paired with a Revsound 2x8 cab. I am enamored with the amp - amazing tone and build quality. I've already spoken with a few folks here about how well the EQ points are designed. With the flick of a switch and minor turn of a knob (if needed) I can easily dial in any sound I want. The only way I can accurately describe the tone is thick, and very musical, if that makes sense...

Sounds promising. Looks like I'll be checking the .5k out next week with my RS210. Hoping this is finally the class D amp for me.
