thoughts about Cab sim vs plugins

Yes, i agree. I'm just a happy amateur, but I think the vsts are so good now, it's much easier for a non studio pro like me to get a good sound without working my butt off... The vsts are much more forgiving, and you can modify (fix your weird decisions..) pretty much every aspect of the signal...

thoughts about Cab sim vs plugins

If you like the sound of the pedal, it's good. That simple and that hard.. Myself I use vsts for simplicity and flexibility. Haven't found a pedal that sounds markedly better than the vst's in Amplitube. I've tinkered around with a sansamp bddi, but not overly happy with the result. I use a...

Focusrite experience needed - direct vs input monitoring

Yes that might be! There was a change in this feature between the generations. Is there a button on the hardware? Maybe on the back?

Monitor Bass and Drums Through Headphones?

That's 2 headphone outputs. Then you're ready to go :) Should be plenty of inputs. You need 3, for a stereo drum kit and a bass? Get a DAW, fire up the computer and start cooking! I hear Reaper is free till June.

Focusrite experience needed - direct vs input monitoring

Sure! It's the mix control as you said. Install and open, it should work smoothly. Open output routing. The two top faders are direct monitoring. I've pulled them down. Are you having trouble opening the app?

Focusrite experience needed - direct vs input monitoring

That button activates input monitoring, it doesn't deactivate direct monitoring. To eliminate direct monitoring, you have to install the Scarlett driver. In the driver app there's routing options etc. There you can set level for direct monitoring, I just turn it all the way down, I don't have...

    Do you program drums?

I draw it. The best might be to play it with el-drums, but my skills are not up to notch, and I don't have the time or ambitions to learn. I just want to record my ideas quick and effortless. I have played with many drummers in various bands in my life, currently a rock/country/blues band, so I...

    Do you program drums?

The freeware didn't communicate with the DAW, couldn't find a stable ok sounding vst-type. A hassle to go back and edit. Very happy about addictive drums.

    Do you program drums?

Thanks :-) a good plectrum sound is just as technically hard as fingers ime. These days I'm using addictive drums. A breeze compared to the software I'm used to.

    Do you program drums?

Sure. I think I used some sort of freeware here, can't remember which. Love your tone and your playing BTW! Reminds me of early Faith No More, angry and energetic.

Feedback on recording, bassplaying, sound, and arrangement?

Hi tb'ers. I just posted this song on Soundcloud, and I was wondering if any of you guys and girls could take the time to listen to it. I would very much appreciate any feedback, criticism etc. on the bass playing, the song, the arrangement, the mix and so on. I set up a little amateur...

    Ampeg PF-115HE Questions

It's how all amps are marked. The 350 probably puts out 150 w. It's just numbers, so that we can compare amps. I don't see the problem. You want louder, you need more cabs.

Help me with this ohm calculation please

I suspect there is a misunderstanding here. If you have a 210 with two 16 ohm speakers running in series, you just add up and get 32 ohm total, which is imo very unusual. More likely they run in parallelle, which would get you 8 ohm. If you run a 4 ohm cab in parallelle with 8 ohm, you get a...

ohhhhh..it lights up does it ? anyone else have LEDs on their bass?

So you have lights on your bass, but you don't like it when people notice. That's..an easy one. You want a solution, or just moral support for your light show?
