    Fighting For Space At Gigs

My favorite is the drummer that arrives first, and sets his kit right in the middle of the stage, every time, full well knowing that two people have to set up on one side while only one has the other. I put up with this for the better part of a year only because it was a good paying gig...

    Need to vent.....

Read your own post and the answer you shall find........... You don't enjoy being in this band, the musicians aren't very talented, and you're embarrassed to play out with them. You need to quit. But you are committed to the gig on Friday. Your reputation will suffer more from not honoring...

How would you handle these gear purchases (band fund vs individual members purchasing)

Drummer buys drums Guitarist buys guitar and amp Keyboard player buys keys Bass player buys bass and amp Whoever can afford a PA buys that and gets an extra cut of the gigs that require him/her to bring it. Simple

Using XLR Out and Power Amp in on an Ampeg PF500?

Power amp in would bypass the preamp and therefore render the DI useless

When are too many tribute bands too many?

My guess is the next phase will be 90's grunge tribute bands. I expect to see them as the next thing in ten to fifteen years. Unless there's another rock movement, this may be the last wave of tribute popularity

Doing a Country fill-in gig - any advice?

Yep, leaning toward traditional country for sure. Even the newer stuff is more rooted in traditional country, and not so much of the current pop-rock in a cowboy hat stuff. Best of luck!

Doing a Country fill-in gig - any advice?

Modern country or more traditional country? The modern stuff is just rock with country style vocals. Either way, learn the songs as best you can before the gig and you'll be fine. You might even like it. I went through a similar thing a few years ago and found that there are many more...

    Pedulla consesus?

I owned Pedulla Raptor a while back. Loved the look Most comfortable bass I've ever owned Build quality was excellent Mine was the single Bartolini soap bar and the tone never wowed me. Probably would have liked it more if it was the jazz version. Eventually traded it, not because I didn't...
