    Wenge Neck Club

Decided to get all my Wenge necked instruments out for a group photo. My matching Fenders with Warmoth Wenge necks, Two Warwick Thumbs, Mayones Ori and Grand Chapman stick

    Wenge Neck Club

I have one…but my experience has been less than stellar, with no part being the fault of Mayones. After months of waiting FedEx delivered the bass in a big bag soaking wet. I should have never signed for it, but hard in the moment. Took weeks to get the neck how I wanted it and when I finally...

I Miss My Warwick Thumb 5

The thumb is one of those basses that you own and love the tone, but the weight or ergonomics can be a major turn off. I’ve had at least one thumb in my arsenal for over 15 years. I remind myself why they’re on the never sell list, every time I plug them in.

I’m currently having a love affair with brightly colored multi scale basses. Mayones Ori and Kiesel A2

"Official" Carvin and Kiesel Club - Part 3

Ha typo! It’s the dark glass tone capsule with their tritium pickups.

Yes. It’s British Racing Green with two tone yellow and white splatter over top.

"Official" Carvin and Kiesel Club - Part 3

Just received my A2 bass. I’ve never been into loud finishes, but went all out with my Packers bass. Really pleased with the time capsule preamp and the pickups. Considering I didn’t like the Thanos bass I owned at all, this one has me very satisfied.

The Official Warwick Club (Part 6)

Did a little work on my thumb sc today. The mini toggle switches for the pickups were worn out and I’ve been having issues with preamp anyways. Wired up new toggle switches and installed an Aguilar obp3, really pleased with the sound. Just need a replacement stack knob and I’ll be good to go.

    Mayones owners club.

My Ori Enji arrived yesterday….unfortunately FedEx did not take care. I’ve been having basses shipped for 15 years and I’ve never had an instrument show up without a box. How FedEx destroyed the box is beyond me but bass arrived in its gig bag. opened it up and everything looked fine, got it...

The Official Warwick Club (Part 6)

If anyone is ever thinking about trying a high c on a thumb 5, give it a go. Something about the tone and string spacing works great with the c. I know that’s a sacrilege with how great the low b is, but digging it so far.

Love the look of these. Might be the cure for my dingwall itch.

Which bass that you own has your favorite slap bass sound?

Favorite slap sound for me is my Fodera Ryan Martinie bass. It’s got that aggressive burpy mid range in the middle position like the Warwick thumb it’s modeled after, but my biggest surprise was how good the neck pickup sounds on its own.

    Buyers Beware/Scam: Rick Link/Beardly Customs

Man, I hate to see this. I’ve followed Beardly for years and have often thought about taking the gamble and ordering a bass from him. My fear of ending up in this situation has always stopped me. I really hope he makes this right, and I could understand wanting a full refund vs full rebuild at...

The official "Show your basses" thread part 19!

Similar tone obviously due to the pickup positioning, but they are completely different animals. The Warwick has that trademark growl and has a deeper sound. The Fodera is brighter due to the bolt on and wood choice. The Fodera is an overall more comfortable player due to weight. But every time...

My spirit bass is obviously Thumb shaped.
