    Vintage Roland Cube Driver

Thanks ChristoMephisto, unfortunately I've typo'd and was trying to ask about the speaker driver. Who'd have though one s instead of an r and if would still make sense... (but the wrong sense)

    Vintage Roland Cube Driver

Probably a long shot, but does anyone happen to have the details of the drives in the old Cube-60 Bass from the late 70's early 80's. I'd like to build a cab with the same tonal profile, so I figured step one was measure the driver. But mine has either been glued in at some point or 40+ years...

EB Slinky Flats collecting massive amounts of gunk.

One of my local music stores. But I'm in Perth, Australia so I suspect the supply chain isn't a straight A -> B.

EB Slinky Flats collecting massive amounts of gunk.

I can't say I've ever had this problem with electric strings before, although the end of the fingerboard on my double might go against me there. I do have problems with my body chemistry reacting to strings, so I find if I don't use stainless or coated strings they'll corrode super fast, but...

EB Slinky Flats collecting massive amounts of gunk.

I'm going to contact Ernie Ball about this too and see what they say, but has anyone else had problems with Slinky flat wounds just collecting ridiculous amounts of gunk? I'm not sure if its all from my finger or if some of its corrosion, but looking at it zoomed in I think it might just be from...

Thoughts on Yamaha TRBX vs BB 5 string?

Possibly I just need to put my thoughts on paper; but I'd love to hear any other opinions. I need a five string bass. I'd had a few too many occasions now where I've had to sit in on one and I inevitably end up a 4th flat at some point. Having done the rounds of my local music shops I'm down to...

Double Bass Spiro EA + Permanent DG? (Edgar Mayer style at standard tuning)

I'm well past due for some new strings, and as my three biggest influences for the stuff I'm currently playing (Ethan Jodziewicz, Paul Kowert, and Edgar Meyer) all appear use the same set-up I thought I'd give that a try. The problem is all those guys use solo tuning for the top three strings...

Double Bass Lead Sheet for Egyptian Fantasy - Sidney Bechet

As the title, does anyone have a lead sheet for Egyptian Fantasy - Sidney Bechet I've been asked to do it for a gig and if I can save the time transcribing it that would be fantastic!

Looking great. Mind if I ask where you got the brass thumb screws? I've been looking for some myself.

Best technique for singing while playing?

Personally I prefer to combine the parts as soon as possible. The idea being that I'm no longer learning two parts that I have to play simultaneously. I'm learning one part that happens to feature two instruments. If its a tricky part I'll have to start much slower, but I find it works best for...

    fEARful™ Part Twelve (12)

Thanks mate, I owe you one. PM incoming.

    fEARful™ Part Twelve (12)

I don't have any more pics of it yet, but I'll try and get some more on the weekend if people are interested. As for the design, the idea was that it slides in from the back and is then secured by the thumb screws into the mount points on the head for combo use. There's a lip on the front...

    fEARful™ Part Twelve (12)

Do you mind explaining how you've attached the grill? I did mine on a ply frame, but I snapped a couple of frames before arriving at the current one. This one has held together, but is bent under tension on the right so I've been considering possible improvements. .

What are the pickups you're using? They look interesting.
