Probably a long shot, but does anyone happen to have the details of the drives in the old Cube-60 Bass from the late 70's early 80's. I'd like to build a cab with the same tonal profile, so I figured step one was measure the driver. But mine has either been glued in at some point or 40+ years...

I can't say I've ever had this problem with electric strings before, although the end of the fingerboard on my double might go against me there. I do have problems with my body chemistry reacting to strings, so I find if I don't use stainless or coated strings they'll corrode super fast, but...

Personally I prefer to combine the parts as soon as possible. The idea being that I'm no longer learning two parts that I have to play simultaneously. I'm learning one part that happens to feature two instruments. If its a tricky part I'll have to start much slower, but I find it works best for...

Do you mind explaining how you've attached the grill? I did mine on a ply frame, but I snapped a couple of frames before arriving at the current one. This one has held together, but is bent under tension on the right so I've been considering possible improvements. .

What are the pickups you're using? They look interesting.
