Thanks I will look at the wires. I am not sure if it is active or passive. It has the super ferrite pickip so I think it may be active.

Thanks for the heads up. I went ahead and read up on some reviews. I went ahead and got new strings put on the bass. However, I am getting no sound at all from the bass. The output jack was a little loose so I tightened it but no dice. Where do you suggest I begin my trouble shooting?

So you are saying flat strings need to be broken in? And you're suggestion is to go with GHS light Tapewounds? Do you have a link to them because I just tried googling them and did'nt find them.

The more I read, the more I want flats. The sound I am going for is the old, thump of motown hits and such and I think flats are the way to go. Now the question is, which flats?
