Are Gibson RDs really that rare?

I am a newie so i will talk from that place.....Recently I bought a RD Artist from 1978 in mint contition and 100% original. In my humble opinion this is an OUTSTANDING instrument. Is well known this bass is very heavy, but the sound is terrific.

Gibson RD Artist - Part 2

OK... The bass is now with me. :bassist: The final price was US 867.00 $ with original Gibson Hardcase. In my opinion the bass is very near to mint....around 95% to 98%.... The body, neck and headstocks are in outstanding condition...No visible scratchings, dents, dings, etc....:hyper...

    Gibson RD Artist

I just found a RD Artist in pristine condition with the OHC :hyper: I am buying for 870 $ and I verified all the electronics (moog included) works OK. The question I have is what strings are better for this bass? Just in case: I have with me La Bella flatwound 760FHB2 strings (39-56-77-96)...
