    Place to get strings online

Whoa! Thank you very much, every single one of you! I did check all the suggested ones (even eBay, which I pretty much ignore nowadays, but still look fairly decent), and ordered a set of Deep Talkin Flats for my Jazz this morning from Strings by Mail. I've been out of the game too long... :)

    Place to get strings online

I remember some time ago there was website called String Online or something, where you could get a nice variety of bass strings at a relatively good price, cheaper than retail stores. Did that place go belly up, or do they exist under a different name now?

What kind of music/playing is this? It's amazing...

Well, you're not too far off. The drummer is the same for both, I believe.

CIJ Mustang bass vs 1972 Musicmaster Bass

I've only owned a Musicmaster (Squier Vista version), and I enjoy playing the living snot out of it. With that said, every time I saw a Mustang in a music store, I had an indescribable urge to JUST play it. They are fun little basses to have around, as the short scale makes everything easier...

    Pass the Pepto...

Just to let you know, this comment will not go unappreciated. I don't log into here as much as I used to, but this did it for me!

    Squier MusicMaster Vista Club

Holy Carp!! This thing has grown! It also seems I need to repost my old pix from the beginning. @matt-o- When did Squier come out with the pink Bronco? I've been out of the loop for a loooong time, and just slowly dipping my toes back in the water. If the quality on those is pretty good...

Fender Rascal Bass - Truss rod

From the pictures, I had thought that was the case (like with the RI Mustang, but oddly enough, not the Pawn Shop Mustang). I've had this idea in my head that maybe this could work... Invalid Link Removed I know it would meant routing out a chunk in the body, and probably ruin the aesthetic...

    Covers that make you angry.

No, your right. I went back and reread that post and realized the point I thought I was making made sense only to me. I can't blame it on anything except my own inability to transpose my thoughts to the keyboard.:eyebrow: I like the 3 songs I posted also, I just forgot to say something like...

    Covers that make you angry.

My feelings on Christmas music are from working too many seasons in retail hell. If there is a hell, then the devil looks like Geoffrey the giraffe. I forgot to add this one. Saw it the other day and was slightly impressed: another one man show, now with no gimmicks!-

    Covers that make you angry.

Took the words outta my mouth. It's not the crowds that get to me first during gift-getting season, it's the music. How many times do these songs hafta be recorded. Oh, the last three hundred thousand sounded slightly the same? Lets play them in a different style! With this years flavorite...

    Colors are FRUITY! (Finishes fruits/foods)

Funny, I was looking through this hoping somebody didn't say it. :D Late to the party, as usual. Good thread, though. Maybe this will provide another incentive for me to practice, so that everytime I have a snack attack, I associate food with bass playing.

Do you have any pet peeves about basses - insignificant things that you really don't like?

I actually read the whole thing and only saw it mentioned once: burst. I don't care what it's called or how many colors used, tobacco burst, sun burst, cherry burst, etc and etc. It reminds me of grandma's wood paneling from the 70's. I know they look nothing like each other, but I guess it...

    Later lives of former bandmates

This brings into perspective the things I have / haven't done and where I could have wound up, good or bad. Early morning insomnia dosen't help either :) Drummer / singer-1st band: last I heard, after shacking up with somebody else's wife, moved back home with his mom, probably killing his...

On Hartford CL this morning ... long post ...

With the emphasis on the...um...personal fullfillments required from bandmembers, it gives a double meaning when you say "weenie dog" :roflmao::laugh::)o_O Ok, I'll shut up now...

    Rickenbacker Rant

Some time ago, I was sitting in an open jam nite and the restaurateur brought in his Ric. It was the 2 p'up version (4003?). Looked nice, sounded awesome, he even let me noodle on it for a couple of minutes. It felt a little weird, but I was also sitting down when I held/played it. I did not...
