Is that the latest Green Day Album?Pretty much everything from these new "Punk Goes Pop" compilations on Youtube.
I would submit that the performance in question has seemed to evoke a strong emotional response in the OP. Mission accomplished! The fact that you didn't like it has little bearing......
Can I add to this list:
EVERY XMAS SONG EVER
Yeah i think so,too! I pretty much love the Finns, and CH to pieces....
Except they did. It was from a soundtrack, and the sound track gave the credit to Robert Smith and company.

I know, I know, another hate thread.
But someone at my school (a sub-indie-fake underground hipster, singer songwriter type) has just done a cover of "Sailin On" by Bad Brains. I knew that she normally did relaxed, boring acoustic songs so I wanted to see what she had done with it.
It was slow. I expected that. Sometimes slow covers of normally fast songs can be fine. She had a weird echo type effect on her electric going on. That was weird.
But this version had no energy. There was no grit, no anger, and NO EMOTION AT ALL in her vox or guitar playing.
IT IS STRAIGHT UP WRONG TO COVER A SONG LIKE SAILIN ON WITH NO ENERGY.
I know someone will ask but I'm not going to post a link because it's just that embarrassing and I don;t think it deserves any more plays.
As much as I dislike negativity, especially towards other musicians... Feel free to post some covers that make you angry in le comments below (preferably of good songs made worse).
I agree. I thought it was quite tasteful and well performed. Their cover of House of the Rising Sun...on the other hand...That isn't so bad, in fact I like it.
and the soldiers seem to dig it and appreciate them doing it, that means a lot.
Disturbed's version of the Land of Confusion is my angry song. I love it, but it gets going, and I tend to speed when driving while it's on the radio.

I don't dislike it (Judas Priest's Diamonds and Rust); but the first time I heard it it got a belly laugh from me. It ain't Joan Baez.![]()
Hey bro, I'm right there with you. FFDP is just a modern generic nu metal band, with extreme emphasis on generic.... Yeah you caught me. I do hate FFDP. I hate the name, I hate the fans, and I hate the music. Hearing the song makes me mad because I think about how much I hate the band and the name and the fans. The fact that I really enjoy the original is just an extra kick in the nuts.
I once read an interview with Joan Baez where she was asked about Priest's cover. She said she liked it. I like it so much I've done both versions in bands and on my own.

There is a big difference between a cover I don't like to play and being angry over playing it. How can a cover make you angry if you are in a covers band, especially if you are gigging and being paid for it.
I enjoy playing Ebin, by Sublime. Funny thing, in one band we do a few Sublime covers, some are covers of covers.
Yes Sir,I like it!What are your feelings on Neil Finn, Mr. Horse?
Lol I'm a big Finn fan. Been that way since Split Enz.
