    DUAL CUBE BASS LX

It's quite good. I brought it mainly for playing at times where no mains power is available. If there is anything I'm less impressed about, it would be the difficulty in getting enough volume whilst keeping a clean sound and the difficulty I had connecting it to my iPhones editor app.

    DUAL CUBE BASS LX

In case anyone else has this problem... I was able to fix the problem by deleting the app and re-installing. The re-install was the same version number as the one I had originally.

    DUAL CUBE BASS LX

Has anyone tried connecting the Boss Dual Cube Bass LX to the iPhone app? I am having difficulty with this. I start the app (with the phones Bluetooth turned on but not connected to anything), then I clicked the apps 'connect to BLUE TUBE MINI' button. Note: the instructions do not seem to say...

    The violin bass club

Thanks for that Doctor Intrepid. I found a YouTube video that showed how to remove the knobs using table spoons. That worked just fine for me.

    The violin bass club

I brought some 'Tea-cup' type knobs for my HCT-500/1 bass. However, I can't seem to find out out to remove the old ones. There is no screw that I can see and they don't seem to want to pull off. Any ideas anyone please? Is this swap even possible? The tea-cup ones use a screw to attach them to...

    The violin bass club

A couple of days ago, I added this to my collection of basses. It's the HCT-500/1-SB model. Since the picture was taken, I have changed to strings to the Hofner flatwound ones. I have also ordered the 'Tea-Cup' type volume controls to replace the supplied ones. I would very much like to become...

The official "Show your basses" thread part 19!

This is the latest addition to my family of basses giving me a total of 6 now. It's the HCT-500/1-SB Contemporary version of the violin bass. I have changed to flatwound strings since the picture was taken yesterday. Other work I am considering is changing the volume pots to 250k and the...

The Official Fender Precision Bass Club (Part 8)

If your referring to the ones on the bass that I posted a picture of yesterday, then Yes. They are quarter pounders. They certainly seem quite good to me.

I'm told that when you turn the volume knob down the nature of electronics is that you loose a bit of treble. I understand that this modification compensates for that.

The Official Fender Precision Bass Club (Part 8)

This is the same Player series bass I posted on the 20th May but now upgraded to be much more like how I want it to be. The upgrades include a Hipshot bridge, Seymour Duncan pickups and brand new electronics which includes 'Treble bleed'. Other changes are the white pickguard and a black strap.

The Official Fender Precision Bass Club (Part 8)

Hello. I'm considering upgrading my Player series P-Bass with Seymour Duncan Quarter Pound pickups. I seem to be finding 2 models - SPB3 and SSPB3 (same price apparently). Does anyone know what the difference is please?

The guy seemed quite knowledgeable and helpful. He spend about 1/2 an hour going through all that.

The Official Fender Precision Bass Club (Part 8)

Having previously obtained a 5 string Precision Bass, I thought I might like a 4 string one as well. I saw this in a second hand shop. They said it was a 2021 Player Series. I wasn't sure as to the best of my knowledge, all white Player series instruments start off life with a white fingerboard...

    Harmonics when muting

A further thought that occured to me is that I tend to use the edge of the fingerboard at the bottom of the neck as my 'go to' thumb rest position, whereas many people on videos I've watched recommend resting the thumb on the edge of a pickup. I was wondering if my way is a really bad idea as...
