DUAL CUBE BASS LX

My guess is it's a step on the wrong direction for my needs.

Dual Cube Bass LX is 2x10W into a pair of 5" woofers.

The Micro Cube Bass RX is 2x2.5W into a quad of 4" speakers. Good chance the RX is louder. The power difference is -3dB. But the cab may be more efficient.

I tried the RX in store and was totally underwhelmed by how loud it could play, so not really interested in an even quieter amp.

The LX and RX have different features than the EX that some people think are really cool.

I don't personally see the point in a small practice amp...especially since I have a large collection of amps. I play whichever amp I am in the mood for. But I don't live with someone in a small apartment, so there is no benefit to small and cheap.

Cube Street EX is 2x25W into a pair of 8" woofers. This is where I would start if I needed a compact battery-powered busking amp. Probably best for gathering around a camp fire with a couple of dreadnoughts though. The Cube Street EX is more of a PA cab and does not sound a like a bass amp. I actually prefer this, but you may prefer a bass amp.

FYI I believe all of Rolands power ratings are exaggerated. If you divide by 4, I think you are pretty close to their actual RMS rating. LX (10/4=2W) GX (5/4 = 1.25W) EX (50/4=12.5W)

If I had to busk today, I would grab my Jackery 300 power bank and my GK 700RB/112 combo. 225W into and 12" speaker.

My practice setup is a Torpedo Cab M into a Tech 21 Deuce Deluxe... perfect at any volume, just not easy to carry around (like to friends' houses... but that's OK, I don't honestly ever really do that!). Will wait to try, perhaps I don't need it at all. Perhaps I have everything I need! I hate that feeling... :)

Has anyone tried connecting the Boss Dual Cube Bass LX to the iPhone app? I am having difficulty with this. I start the app (with the phones Bluetooth turned on but not connected to anything), then I clicked the apps 'connect to BLUE TUBE MINI' button. Note: the instructions do not seem to say if the adaptor on the amplifier should be in pairing mode (blue light flashing) at this stage or not. Either way, when I click the button on the app, the phone just gives me a blank screen and it never seems to move on from there.

In case anyone else has this problem... I was able to fix the problem by deleting the app and re-installing. The re-install was the same version number as the one I had originally.

I own this amp, it sound great at low volumes. I would not consideer this one for anything other than home + you need to manage a ground wire because it is noisy as hell with single coils, even with the noise gate on, because the noise gate will not filter when you play.
As a practice amp though, it is great and fit into an ikea billi bookshelve.

It's quite good. I brought it mainly for playing at times where no mains power is available. If there is anything I'm less impressed about, it would be the difficulty in getting enough volume whilst keeping a clean sound and the difficulty I had connecting it to my iPhones editor app.

My main practice amp.
Recently bought a Fender Rumble Studio 40 but returned it the very next week.
This one sounds great, louder than I thought it'd be, and just enough extras for me.
Congratulations to all of you!
I love Roland/Boss products in general, but really love their battery powered stuff.

Volume-wise, is it loud enough to keep up with an acoustic guitar or two at a camp jam type situation?

How's the DI?
I noticed it had two XLR DI outputs, but most mixers only have one input. Do you just use the left XLR output?

I got the dual cube bass LX, because on paper it seemed very good.

Huge disappointment.
It's louder than I expected, and the battery life is great. Very versatile, you can modify the global EQ using the app... awesome. Rhythm machine is fun enough...

But I can't get a sound I'm happy with. With all FX down etc, it still sounds like there's some processing that colours the sound, and I just can't get rid off it. I can reduce it, with the semiparametric EQ on the app, but not eliminate it. I'm far happier with the Joyo MA-10B, the Caline S8B (built-in rechargeable battery, really handy) and the Headrush FRFR-GO with just about any multiFX/preamp, and they all cost a lot less.

In terms of functionality, it's hard to beat. But, in my opinion, the sound leaves much to be desired, especially when a £30 plasticky thing like the Joyo sounds better.

In short: try before you buy or make sure there's a good returns policy.

Thank you!
Do you have any experience with the DI?
