Now, to be fair, I may have sounded more critical than the Cube Bass LX deserves.
It is not a terrible sounding amp (all this is just my opinion and nothing else, of course!), it is usable as a practice amp (it sounds better than some small amps I used to own!) and it can do way-too-loud-for-an-apartment. The low end coming from that thing is surprisingly full. Outdoors the sound just disperses and you will not feel that loud or having as much 'oomph', but it can have its uses. I just expected it to sound better, coming from Roland/BOSS, especially when we're talking a >£300 box once you add the bluetooth adaptor...
The Joyo MB-10A definitely sounds a bit... well, plasticky. But a little bit. It doesn't have a hugely full low end, but it's got plenty for relatively low volume practice at home (it is only 10W, it can get loud but it soon distorts if the EQ is very bass heavy. It is a £30 little portable amp. Despite its limitations, music played through it sounds better than through the BOSS, and my bass sounds more like my bass, rather than my bass through some very coloured by default multiFX unit.
I kept the BOSS purely because it's like a Swiss Army knife. It may not have the best or most comfortable scissors or corkscrew... but it can do the job and it can do so many of them.
After I had mine, Joyo released a very interesting unit. It doesn't do quite as much as the BOSS, but it does a lot of it. It also has a built-in rechargeable battery, which I find more convenient. For people like me who play guitar too, it appears to have a dedicated guitar amp sim section too. I don't think it's going to be very good for busking on bass although it will do for guitar... and it's about 60% of what the BOSS costs. Something else to consider, maybe.
