Zynex strings. It isn't a technique issue. I've had several other bassists give it a go. It just feels like it isn't gripping 100% no matter how much rosin I use.

I keep getting a really scratchy hollow sound. I use pop's rosin. I have varied the bow tensions, but no luck. Does Rosin brand actually make a difference? Or is this just a brand war?

Well the D harmonic on the G string is about a semi tone too close to the nut. That is my hand hits an Eb when I hit the heel and maintain correct hand position. I was TOLD that I had a D neck bass. Maybe it is an Eb neck. If that is the case, I'll just add a small piece of rubber near the heel...
