New to the Bass...Looking for Amp suggestions...

Markbass 2X10 combo - the 102P if you could afford just a little over a grand. Then you won't be looking to get something better in 6 months. If you added a 15" cab someday you'd have the super rig. I always like to plan ahead - part of the reason why I'm broke, too. lol

What line of bass should my store carry.

okay - you need to carry Fender. Just do it. 2nd place - I say Music Man. As for amps-I say go with Mark Bass gear and I know, they're exclusive to GC. But all things change. The economy might just bust that arrangement up. Then hop all over it. Until then, carry the Fender Amps. Done.

looking for the best combo amp

Mark Bass CMD102P - a 2X10 300watt combo. Just found out that it's on sale at GC till the end of November. $150 off normal price. I don't know if I'm allowed to say what something sells for so please excuse me if I'm not allowed - I'm new to the forum. Pair it with the Mark Bass Traveler 15" cab...

How were the 90s for Fender?

Just had a '97 American Deluxe Jazz here for a couple weeks while I was looking for an '08 model. Great bass - great tone! Quieter pickups than the '08 I wound up buying. Different sound. More round and punchy - less growl than the '08. Could have been the new strings on the '08 maybe. But that...

Markbass CMD 121p - Can it Handle the Volume?

Sorry to disagree but many keyboard amps are stereo to take advantage of the stereo samples that are use for digital piano's, organs, etc. Just about all of the medium to high end one's certainly are. Just plug into one that is stereo and then plug in mono to that same amp and you'll hear the...

Markbass CMD 121p - Can it Handle the Volume?

BEBOP 1 - you talked about the 121 as a good keyboard amp. What about the fact that most keyboards are stereo and don't sound as good when you go mono. These Mark Bass amps only have 1 input. I am also a keyboard player and have never loved the sound of keyboard amps and I've tried and owned a...

    Small Practice Amp?

Just realize that the Ampeg BA112 does not get very loud. I know you said practice amp so it might not be an issue. If volume is a concern try before you buy. Dime it and see what I'm talking about.

Fender MIA Jazz Deluxe: old vs new

Just had a '97 American Deluxe Jazz in my studio comparing it to an '08 American Deluxe Jazz I just bought. The '97's pups were quieter and they sounded different. More round and punchier. The '08 had less of that round, punchy sound and had a more growly sound. Now some of that could have been...

    Hated LM Bass II Experience

Now go back to GC and plug into the CMD 102P combo. Even better. I just played thru the same setup you did and then the CMD 102P yesterday and the winner was the combo. Must have been the ported cabinet on it. Woweeeeee! Fender American Deluxe V thru CMD 102P - fugetaboutit! I HAVE to have...

    J bass p/u ?

If those are the same pickups that are on a '97 American Deluxe Jazz I just had in my studio the past few days those are great sounding pups. Very punchy and round. And quiet as a church mouse. Quieter than my brand new Samarium Cobalt Noiseless equipped 2008 American Deluxe Jazz. That '97 Jazz...

1997 fender american deluxe jazz 4 string questions

I just happen to have a 1997 American Deluxe Jazz on loan in my studio right now and I'm A/Bing it with a brand new American Deluxe Jazz that I just bought. The outputs are pretty much the same. I'll tell you - this '97 sounds great! Different than the new one. Punchier tone - more round in a...
