Considering using the D800 as a backup guitar head. Wondering how well it works using heavy fuzz, of or clean boost?

They are a Walkabout Scout on the bottom and a Traynor on the top - both at 8ohms. I'll try it both ways again later tonight and see if there is any difference again. Could just be me.

I know that it's wise to run the D800 head at 2ohms when using a single 112 cab. just wondering if anyone has run a 112 cab with the head at the 4/8ohms - using low to moderate volume?

Just came back from the gig. Mesa D-800 into a Mesa Scout 1x12 on the bottom and a Traynor 1x12 on top. Drummer liked my sound - said it was a nice warm bass sound.

I run a Mesa Subway preamp pedal into the Powerstage 170 into two 12 inch cabs and the output volume is fairly loud in a band mix with the the volume control between 11:00 and noon. I would like to try the Powerstage with the Mesa Subway 15 cab as a single cab solution but that would be 8ohms...

Has anyone paired the subway 12 with a scout 12 in a rig setup?

Is the tube preamp section of the WD800 bypassable? In case of tube failure it would be nice to have an amp that's still operable. I think I remember seeing such a feature on some bass amps.

Thanks. I no longer have a walkabout but I have the scout 12 8ohm extension that I use with a d800 preamp and a Duncan Powerstage 170 for low(ish) volume gigs. Thinking of getting a used scout 15 or the new subway 15 as the 12 is often just at it's limit - like the sound though.

Do you still use the 15? Can it get the same(ish) tone like the 12 but louder?
