Tuning down a half step and fret buzz

That was my first thought. 1/4 counter clockwise turn should do the trick but I'm holding off because A. I have to change the strings because the factory strings are still on the bass and since I'm changing them, I'm going to try the bigger gauge first to see if that does the trick and B. I...

Tuning down a half step and fret buzz

Thanks for the advice. I’m planning on tuning my B to a D so I can play those drop D songs without having to do any tuning. Since there will be some increased tension on the B string already, perhaps the .130 would suffice in this case?

I plan on taking it to my regular guy for sure. Thanks for the reply.

Tuning down a half step and fret buzz

Just want to confirm my thought process here. Joined a band that tunes down a half step and with my four string, I experienced a little buzzing and some almost muted notes. I changed from medium to heavy gauge strings and the bass now plays great. I just purchased a 5 string that I'm sure...

    D-G-C-F Strings?

Let me know how these work out for you. We tune a half step down and I use the bass boomers 50-115 and they work perfectly. Now I have a 5 string and I'm looking for a heavy set for it.

Got a 4 string set, now I need the right B...

I just bought a 5 string and was wondering if other people used their favorite four string set and just picked up the B somewhere else. I usually use the heavy bass boomers and they don't appear to sell a 5 string set.....still looking though. I might try the Cleartone .130 B. If the bass...

    Singing and playing...

I do this in the car on the way to and from work and it helps a lot. One hand on the wheel and the other hand plucking strings on the arm rest while singing full force. It kills the time and I get practice in too. I will also disect the song part by part and just practice the smaller parts...

SWR 750X Loses Power on E String

Very strange but here is the history. Picked up the 750x to run through my Ampeg 8X10. Everything works great for half a dozen practices with the amp in an 8 space rack (with fans) set next to the amp. We purposely did not set the rack on the cabinet to avoid vibration to the amp. We play...

    ampeg b2r cuts out

The one I just picked up is having the same issue. Any idea which fan (out of the 603) to order from Digikey? Mophead, do you still have some extras?

Upgrading from a practice amp to a gig amp

Does your band have a PA that you can run through? If so, consider running through a Sansamp Bass Driver or something similar. Don't have to haul around and amp.
