I usually play 4, but the way I play lets me "float" above the strings, so the wide neck of a 6 string doesn't bother me, so when I went to get an extended range bass I went all in with a 6. So yea I'm one of the guys who does 4 and 6, but not 5.

By top do you mean towards the neck or pups?

I'm doing that. The one closest to the pickups is obviously volume. It seems like maybe the one towards the neck is blend but backwards? Clockwise is neck and ccw is bridge? Maybe that's normal but it seems odd to me.

I looked at that and somehow missed where it said that. So now I know it's a volume, blend, and eq, but I'm still not sure which is which.
