    What do you wish existed?

Any bass made for righty also made for a lefty. pete

How do you feel about guys that part out vintage instruments to make more money off of them?

Yes, it infuriates me, especially as a lefty. I don't have a problem with instruments being parted out because, say, the neck is warped, but "their right or not" it isn't a cool practice to just part them out so they can make more money on the individual pieces. shag these people and their brand...

    SPECTOR® Owners Club

I own two LEFTY Spectors: a new Bantam and a DLX EX REBOP. I'm really interested in short scale lefty Spectors. A few years back, they made other short scales - i.e. an artist model for Garry Tallent. Does anybody own other short scales other than the Bantam? In lefty? Thanks!

Question for Spector Bantam Bass Owners...

Yeah, I've been playing mine (same as yours) and have fallen in love with it. I then went and bought a Czech-made 34", but it doesn't compare to the ease and comfort of the Bantam. Been trying to get them to build me one in pearl white...

What brand has all your loyalty?

After 40 years of playing and well over 100 basses, I've landed on the Spector Bantam short scale. To me, it's perfect.

Question for Spector Bantam Bass Owners...

It's funny, I always thought I was a J-bass guy (the smaller neck), but the older I get, the more I prefer the wider P-bass neck. Should have my Bantam by XMAS. I'm a lefty, so they ordered one special for me.

Guitar Paint Guys - buyer beware?

I have sent them three basses. This is my experience: First bass: an old Hondo, painted black. They received it on October 17, 2017, and it was shipped back to me on November 21, 2017 - so, about a month. Second Bass: Ibanez Iceman, painted purple sparkle. They received it on January 9, 2018...

    Crazy And Wacky Basses

Well, this is my daily player, which I built and painted myself. It's got a graphite neck with cocobolo inlays and an Audere four-band pre-amp.

Looking for builder to build p-bass body

USACG are the best out there IMO. Whatever you do stay away from Bernie Hefner. He's an arrogant A-Hole and his finishes are pretty crappy. I've used all of these guys. pete

    Optical Illusion Bass

Somebody on this board gave me this idea but I can't remember who it was! This is a J body I had lying around. I painted it in nitro LPB and put a clearcoat on top, also nitro. The design is painted with acrylic colors and took me a week to do. As you can see in the photo on the left I used...

That new one looks very nice. I use a Dremel every day - they're one of the tools a luthier must have. pete

This is what Warmoth sent me.

Two (or more) piece bodies are glued at the center-line, like yours. Check out the photo attached. I hired a new finisher who insisted that he knew how to finish bodies so the first body he did was this flame maple SJ and proceeded to do the same job as Warmoth did to your bass, which is...
