NBD: Ibanez TMB100 from Sweetwater: should I return it? Advice appreciated!!

I bought a TMB600 which arrived with some grounding issues that I managed to sort out myself. The electrics can be questionable but more of a QC issue. I’d send yours back and get it tidied up a bit. Should be good to go after some basic tlc.

Partial refund on a damaged bass, should I accept?

The seller is taking the biscuit. How could he possibly not be aware of those dents. He knew he should have disclosed them but chose not to.

    Ibanez Basses (school me)

My first bass was/is an Ibanez. A few years ago I decided to give bass a try. As a life long guitarist I wasn’t sure how I would get on so decided to spend only about 500 euros. I decided on the TMB600. Chunkier neck profile than the SR line. Nordstrand licensed pickups, two band active, PJ...

    Fender ACB 50 Adam Clayton

Just seen this. Not many valve bass combos on the market these days. 15 inch speaker, two channels. Invalid Link Removed N.B. Forget this, I didnt see the other threads. No point starting a new one.

Jazz bass of your choice this day.

I tried out a bunch of Jazz basses last year. One that I really liked was the Vintera 60s. I found it hard to work out why the American Pro cost more.(apart from country of manufacture). Very tidy bass. Fender Vintera '60s Jazz Bass review

    Recommended budget acoustic bass

Great post B Mac. Incorrect mindset and unrealistic expectations can lead to problems. This is a universal truth for all things in life.

    Recommended budget acoustic bass

i know what you mean but he has decent pro electric bass gear for gigging. The intention here is just something with a decent unplugged tone for hone use.

    Recommended budget acoustic bass

About the £500 mark. I know from my guitar days that you generally have to be prepared to pay more for quality acoustics than for electrics but things have changed a bit, i know there are some pretty decent affordable acoustics these days.

    Boy, this is embarassing!

Dont be fooled by the years. I sometimes record something and when I listen back I hear something and think that was cool but cant work out what I did. Haha!

    Recommended budget acoustic bass

Hi Guys, I’m trying to help my brother out in selecting an acoustic bass. We are looking at the more budget end of the market. Not sure if this is wise or not. Brands like Fender, Cort, Tanglewood, Takamine all have something to offer that look pretty good. Not really interested in the extra...

    Pedal suggestion for solo

Actually, That’s not quite true. It doesnt change you tone radically, but is does put some kind of halo on it which is why I like it. I find it difficult to describe. Best to try them. If you’re looking to just have more of your basic tone then the RC or EP migt work. If you want dirt then the...

    Pedal suggestion for solo

Xotic boost (or other similar)might be worth a try. I love the EP and RC boost for both guitar and bass. Keeps your original tone and you boost it as desired. BB and RC also give 2 band EQ.

Keep practicing a hard song or come back to it - How to decide

Taking a break and coming back fresh isnt a bad idea. Like others have said, when you do come back - Practice slow. Half speed. Quarantise the tricky bits. Practice them in isolation. Really slow, really fast and at normal tempo.

    Ibanez shred guitar

RG550 is the classic shred guitar. PRS S2 Custom 24 is also a great guitar.
