My suggestion in these situations is to not over think it. If it's a great song, the audience will dance and sing along no matter what. Imagine someone picking up an acoustic guitar and singing 'Don't Look Back in Anger' by Oasis... In the UK at least. Doesn't matter how that song is arranged...

To add a little more context, I’m based in the uk. Played plenty of wedding venues. Can’t remember a venue not asking to see PLI.

It’s common practice when playing functions. Actually, it more than common, it’s pretty standard practice. Same with ensuring all your gear is PAT tested. If someone gets hurt because of you and your equipment, they can sue you directly, nothing to do with the venue.
