Looks like the Player basses pretty much stay the same, except for the fingerboard and new colors. I am glad they didn’t go fancy with a 5 bolt plate and curved neck heel.

The price is €869,00 btw., that’s €30 less than the price of the Player Jazz Bass in Fender’s Italian online shop.

I'm not in the market, but cool that they're doing a refresh I guess. Though rolled edges as a spec seems to be long overdue, the Sires have had those for years.

I’m curious to see which colors they offer. I’m also hoping this means that a refresh of the ultra series is coming soon… I love those basses but man I’d like to see some new color/fretboard combinations!

Nice to see the dark rosewood boards back, the Pau Ferro ones looked bland and washed out to me. Rosewood just looks better as it ages, and you skin oil wears in (a little gross, but inevitable).

Pardon? I posted the link to an online sales offer from an Italian music store that was leaking the new Mexican entry level Fender series and was since taken down.

The quoted text is marketing copy found on that website, most probably a verbatim copy of Fender’s marketing text for the series.

From what I have read in the past, many players where hoping for Fender to move back to rosewood from Pau Ferro as a fretboard material on the Mexican made instruments and this offer confirms that this is finally happening.

As for never-before-seen colors, I doubt it, especially since they've been "unearthed from the archives." I'm betting they'll be offering Black, Polar White, 3-Color Sunburst...and stepping outside the box, Lake Placid Blue instead of Tidepool, Dakota Red instead of Candy Apple Red, and Surf Green instead of Sea Foam Green. Hey, maybe they'll surprise me and offer Candy-Cola Green, though!
Regardless, I've noticed that there aren't too many Player basses available at some stores and a markdown in price for what's left.
Other than that, is this the year the price jumps to $949.99 for Player basses?

On the guitar side of things they're doing something called 'Hialeah Yellow' and bringing back (?) Coral Red, so there may be some hope that there will be some cool colours.

I also did some digging around because I'd be in the market for a Mustang PJ and I found that they're probably doing those in Polar White (which is gonna be a must buy for me, because I missed out on the Olympic White ones) and 'Aquatone Blue'. Also found a Jazz Bass in 'Birch Green'.
