My friend bought a new Epiphone SG Special from GuitarCenter and the same thing happened to the neck joint after a few months of playing. The neck joint holes on the neck side were really shoddy and they tried to use wooden dowels to fix it.
I mean, if the metal band doesn't seem like a committed long term thing and you want to save money, why not just buy new strings for BEAD tuning?
If I were you, I would hold off on buying a 5 string and save up for a nice one later on.
I haven't felt anything thinner than an Ibanez. Great necks.
I like G&L. I have a Fender V and I would choose G&L over Fender any day. G&L 5 string necks are more narrow at the nut than Fender 5 string necks.

Shows like this are meant for parents to watch with their children. In fact, most are. Children will have questions when they watch these things and parents are supposed to be with them to answer those questions. That's why these shows seem to appeal to a broad audience. I love the humor in a...
