    JB has major hum

Thanks. Yeah, it was fine for about 30 seconds and then it started to hum. It got a little better when I placed my finger on the control panel of the bass, but after a minute that didn't even help and the hum got worse. I like the bass so I think that I'll get it fixed rather than return it.

    JB has major hum

I'm new to the bass and just got my first one, a '93 JB MIJ. It's a beautiful instrument and in great shape. But, after only a few minutes of playing there was a LOUD hum. I know it's the bass because it happened with two different amps with two different cords. Any ideas? Worse case...

What a great day...I woke up without any bass gear and I'm going to bed having bought a Walkabout head, then a Scout cab, and then a MIJ Fender Jazz Bass. Not bad for one day. I'm a guitar player and want to be able to record basic bass tracks. I've learned a lot even in the few days I've...

    New from Nor Cal

Hello from Northern California. I'm a guitar player but have an itch to play a little bass so I thought what better way to scratch that itch and learn what it's all about here on TB while I search for my first bass and bass amp. I've been on The Gear Page for years and love to talk gear...
