Nicely done. I did something similar in one of my recordings where I took my Tascam on a hike outside and just recorded the sounds that were present to put in the background of a solo improvisation piece. The police sirens and rain add a nice extra level of depth to the recording.

look up safety rings... they are rubber rings made for electricians and mechanics. I wear one almost all the time. I keep my actual ring at home and only wear that when its a formal event we are attending. But its only 7 bucks and its the best for performing all the time.
