Ambient/Post-Rock/Textural bass playing thread

this is something that might (or might not) interest folks here:

live ambient/illbient/groove noise/drone/electronica. no overdubs (the panning and all that stuff is live).

Nathan Hubbard on drums and samples and other electronics
Me on basses and samplers/synths, electronics/loops in stereo.

EDIT: we're using iPhones and iPads for the samples and synths.

a pretty cool headphones album if i say so.

Hey everyone, here's another promotional video I wanted to share with like minded folks,

it's a short (5 min) video of a 3 hour improv gig I did recently. All the music was created in the moment. We recently just expanded into having a fractal design/movie clip video projecting behind us, and some basic lights. The feel tends to lean towards post-rock/fusion but it's always interesting to see what comes out. This was our 3rd gig together. Thanks for checking it out, hope you enjoy.

I am at work so I could only sample it a little bit, but I'm going to listen to more at home later - it reminds me a little of Trans Am!

Would really appreciate of people could check this out if you have time and please please like and share if you're into it.

This is my new band which has been a year in the works, there's only a short excerpt available at the minute (as all the songs are 20-30 mins long) but it gives an idea.

Gear wise it's recorded with my Ric 4003 into pedalboard (x2 way huge pork loin/ Bass Big Muff/ Boss DD3/ MXR M80) into an Orange bass terror.

Cheers!

I just released this today and this seems like the place for it. I just did an album of ambient/post-rock music on bass guitar/loops/effects alone. I'm not sure if anything like this has been done but I thought it was both an interesting and fulfilling experiment. Everything from minimalist low-end textures to post-jazz soloing and doom. Enjoy, let me know what you think, and share.

sorta lost track of this thread. here's video of a live gig of a duo i'm in called toques. the guy who did the video art also did the live recording, which sounds pretty good, considering the room.

i'm doing live stereo placement, so headphones are kind of cool.

s liebig: basses, ipads, effects processing
n hubbard: drums, iphones, processing.

possibly a little outer than most of you go, but could be interesting from a few angles.

Very nice. Good bass tone, nice percussion. Kudos!

I thought this might be some interest in this thread. Just some noodling testing out absynth 5 (vst synth) patch i accidentally made some time ago. It can do some realtime audio processing which was happening with bass guitar here. Kinda weird plastic fuzz with reverb or something, but it's mostly the granular stuff like cloud filter and aetherizer. And a waveshaper with squarewave thingy. Sorry no cool pedals to show! :)
