    Multi effects proccesser ?

In my 30 yrs of playing I have never really run accross the need to use an effects unit. Other than a chorus on a couple of Yes songs...But I'm looking into maybe getting one. Like the Boss GT 6B...or something...I've read reviews on the GT6B and they are pretty good other than it's learning...

I have my first audition, but......

Being lead vocals in 2 bands keeps my personal practice time way up there. I miss just being the bass player:(.......With that aside you should learn a tune and have it a close as you can get it before rehearsal. Once you start to slack on practice and learning music you will fall into a trap...

Question - Why have an amp?

We have our own PA. 12,000 watt mains,5 mixes,lights,truck,blahblahblah....We did play a large show at the Delaware State Fair where we did use IEM's. "Out of sorts" is good wording for our situation. Me personally,I'm hooked on that SVT sound!!!! Luckily my band mates said that they missed the...

    Bassist's Guide to Singing

The guitar player in most cases can hear the vocal parts in the chords that they are playing. Bass players don't have that luxury. Also the guitar player doesn't have to pay close attention to the kick in most cases either. In some cases my vocal capabilites have become a detriment to my...

Joining a good band when you are not very good (yet), can it be done?

What difference does it make if you use a tab or not? All that matters is that what you are playing on stage is right. Joe Blow from around the corner that is seeing your act for the first time doesn't give 2 sh*ts how you learned to play it. All that they care is that I saw this band last night...

Joining a good band when you are not very good (yet), can it be done?

Everyone here has pretty much said it right. What do you have to lose? Surround your self with all that blow you away. Go to a show with a bassist that you like. Ask him if you can tech for him. Most of the time you probably will be able to. Most of the time the bass player is the coolest and...

Played a bongo for the first time!

I've tried to find a reason to like the Bongos. But in my opinion their playability lacks. Next to a Stingray anyway. Plus they are very ugly..LOL
