Any one elce use them?

They came on my Schecter 5-string last year. I didn't care for them on the Schecter (sounded too dead) so I took them off and put on EB's. But then I put the Elixirs on my SX 5-string J and they actually sound pretty good on there ... a deep mellow thump.

They sound great on my Lakland 44-02. The nanowebs are a little more slippery than for example DR's.

I was looking for a six set with the most thick high C available for a 34" neck. Just because the C sounded too thin with the F-bass strings that where on my Malinek bass at the time.

Two options came across: Fodera and Elixer. The Elixers where available in the country so I got these first. Allthough they gave a good balance they sounded as if they where old allready.
So as soon as I got the Fodera's I swapped them and these were exactly what I wanted them to be: Good balance, bright and deep. In other words: Alive.

i use elixirs on my geddy and my highway one P. man, i just love them to death. they last forever, don't sound too 'zingy' when new, they just keep a nice consistent feel for a long time. i had a set on my geddy for a whole year before i changed them, and they probably didn't even need changed. i was just going through a spell where i was unhappy with my tone and was changing all sorts of stuff around, picked up a mess of different strings i'd read about on here, tested them out... put another set of elixirs on and it felt like home.

they came on an ibanez SR505 that i bought last year, and i liked the feel, so i tried them on the geddy. the project i was using the ibby for i used a pick most of the time and the pick tore the coating up on the B real good and real quick, so that is something to think about before sticking a set of relatively expensive strings on a bass. if you play with a pick, that coating might fray on you.

i love elixirs. i love the way the coating feels, i love space age technology in a bass string. they don't seem to be all that popular on here but i am a fan.

My ibanez came with stock elixirs, and i think (i cant remember too well) that they stayed fairly new sounding for several months. These days i use d'addarios or DRs due to limited budgets, and my strings are completely dead in a week!
Should i invest in some elixers?

My SR506 im getting in a few doys. It is immediatly getting a Pair of Elixers.

I love them.. The Feel, the Sound. They are awesome.

I have Elixirs on three of my basses now.

I love their darkish tone, smooth feel and thump!

I also like Lo-Riders, and Fodera nickels, but I just might end up putting Elixirs on all my basses.

I'd recommend them to anyone.

I have Elixers on all my gigging basses. They don't have that new zingy tone,but they aren't supposed to.They sound like a set of strings that are settled in and they stay that way for a long time. Just wish they made them in a heavier gauge.

I have them on all my basses, and have for years, because I DON'T like the 'brand new string sound' of standard bass strings and especially hate how fast their sound dies and need replacement. I change mine 1 times a year, so even though Elixirs are not inexpensive, I feel I come out ahead.

Last year I put their acoustic bass set on my Sigma Acoustic Electric Bass and (to my ears) are SO superior to the usual bronze bass strings.

I use to use them. They had a nice neutral tone, not too hot, not too dead. They were my go-to strings for a while until I started changing my style and I went ahead with DR's. DR's to me were the perfect strings for funk/slap that I was playing more and more. I still have a set of Elixirs and 2 B strings sitting on my stand here. I'm going to sell them here on TB. elixirs are good. they came on my iceman as the stock strings, theyve lasted a year without any problems and i always got good tone out of them, but im changing them to DR lo riders today. They are a bit pricey though.

I used to use them all the time, until every store in the area stopped carrying 5 string sets.

I now have a stock pile of strings and change them once every 2 to 3 months...

I would switch back in a heartbeat... The set that came on my Schecter lasted 6 months of constant gigging...

Not bad for $45 bucks...

I used them a couple times. I thought they sounded pretty good. I always choke on the price though so I that's what keeps me away from them. I'v never been able to convince myself that the shelf life was really worth the price, particularly during a long, hot, busy summer of gigging.

They have a good moderate sound, not too tingy and trebly, and not too boomy (although my low B can sound a little muddy, but I think that is mostly my bass). They keep their tone for a real long time. My first impression of them was that they felt disturbingly slippery, but you get used to it.

I swear by them. I have them on all of my Stingrays. They last forever!!!!!!

I've been using them on my SR505. I'm loving the tone, and not playing with a pick, the coating has lasted a long time. I've been playing with the same set for almost 3 years now. They don't grease up the same as uncoated strings, so I find the sound stays a little more constant over a longer period of time maintaining that consistent tone.
