A Tale of 3 Cases (soft, cheap, + Mustang content)

I like the dual strap handles for 2 reasons. First, it distributes the stress among 2 more points. Second, if your zipper ever fails, you can still carry your bass. I own or have owned all 3 and this would be my choice among them.

    Fender Japan Jaguar Bass (review)

As far as I recall, this bass was not available in Candy Apple Red but rather the much rarer Hot Rod Red.

Is there an 1176 or FET style compressor with a tilt-EQ like a Smoothie?

Not FET but the J Rockett Airchild has tilt-EQ

    Warm Audio Mutation Phasor II

To somewhat answer my own question, I spoke with WA who said it's a "rather dark" pedal. Had I known, I'd have passed but it's not worth the hassle to return it. On the positive side, it is chewy with no change in volume. Maybe I'll appreciate it more with a bright guitar or when combined with a...

    Mojo Hand Little Wonder Filter

According to their site, the pedal has an internal trim pot for output level.

    Warm Audio Mutation Phasor II

I just bought one and have a question. Is there supposed to be a large loss of highs? It's very dark sounding.

Non Rickenbacker basses that can cop a Rickenbacker sound?

Literally, the worst bass I ever owned. I stupidly traded my 1st bass, a nice Japanese copy of a Rickenbacker, on a brand new B-302 in the 70s. Bass was horrid on so many levels and was actually dangerous to play. Total lemon and Guild offered no support.

Warwick's Masterbuilt Thumb NT and Teambuilt Pro Series BO LTD 2017 35th Anniversary Basses

Beautiful bass but reaching for the end of the neck would require my arm to be several inches longer.

Is maple fingerboard good idea for fretless??

No, rosewood is typically harder than maple.

    Heading to Chuck Levin's today....

Has anyone been there recently who concurs? Is this primarily regarding a few lower priced basses? I would find it surprising to find a "ton" of expensive Spector basses arriving with bowed necks and high action. Is there an in-store sauna?

Sterling by Music Man StingRay Ray34 or EB Music Man StingRay

I went to buy an EBMM Stingray Special but made the mistake of also playing the SBMM Ray34 (roasted neck) and preferred the Ray34 neck by a long-shot. The neck profiles are not the same. The EB was no doubt a better bass and I loved the tuners and steel frets but I could not get over how much I...

    Measuring "reach" vs scale

The saddles on the bridge of a Spector are about 2" farther from the end of the body than a similar Warwick making the reach on the Spector that much farther. I'd love a Spector but that extra 2" causes me shoulder pain.

Thinking of the new Tim Commerford's Ernie Ball Stingrays. Active or Passive?

I prefer the passive Stingray. I rarely use series mode and actually like single-coil mode the most and use it 95% of the time.
