    Double Bass Fingerboard-eating gut strings

well, id say david gage probably knows what he's talking about. that said, the guy who called me out seems to only have experience with one brand of strings (and only for one year), and gamuts are very high quality and have never sprouted hairs on me. the whole point of this whole thread is...

    Double Bass Fingerboard-eating gut strings

you probably should know what you're talking about before you respond. I've had plain gut g&D strings on my bass, on a bass that I was really particularly happy with the fingerboard and set up. I practice a lot and when I say a lot I mean a lot. Within six months I needed a fingerboard...

    Double Bass Fingerboard-eating gut strings

I've had plain gut g&D strings on my bass, on a bass that I was really particularly happy with the fingerboard and set up. I practice a lot and when I say a lot I mean a lot. Within six months I needed a fingerboard dressing. I took it to David Gage and he said he could see exactly where my...

Double Bass About a possible replica of the Kaplan Golden Spiral gut strings

made a quick recording of red spring synthetic over the 16's on my bass just to hear how they sound. recorded with my zoom camera about 5ft away. thought i'd post in case anyone still wondering what they sound like. they feel very much like the gamut reds i used to play

Double Bass All Things Walter Woods

Yeah you have to keep one much lower. It will go into overdrive easy but if you can find that sweet spot it's really nice

Sounds like something's wrong with your boost channel if you're not getting sound though, unless one of your volumes was all the way down,

I believe mix is to blend the two channels together like two separate volume controls for two instruments or two pickups and BST is boost like you're running one gain stage into the next , And you will actually get distortion if you don't balance them right

I think your answer lies in the mids

Use DAW plugins in a physical pedal: Electro-Harmonix Effects Interface Hardware Plugin

Does this thing make it easier to take a track that's already recorded and run it through a pedal board and then back to a new track in the DAW?

Double Bass Radial AC-Driver Acoustic Instrument Preamp/DI

i think its pretty much the same thing as your bassbone except without the eq... just leave your bassbone flat and save some money

Double Bass Best preamp w/ HiZ input and HPF?

i was going to say you still have the eq controls on your amp you can use in addition, but i see that amp doesnt have any. try with an amp that has additional eq, or put some sort of eq pedal after the headway. even the cheap boss one can be great, especially if you already have the high...

    Double Bass Input impedance thread

a buffer in front will do the trick for you, but i think in input impedance is not considered custom. some of the pedals still advertise that this is a selectable option...

Double Bass New Tempera Hybrid Oak

Sadly too thin for me, and plain gut destroys my fingerboards too quickly. Lately silver slaps have been doing it for me, but looking for something else. Maybe the gensler stuff

Double Bass New Tempera Hybrid Oak

I read on a YouTube comment that the oak g-string is smaller in diameter than an oliv g-string, also, I've heard that if you like gut strings, plain gut you would like the oaks, but these two statements seem to be in conflict with each other. I like a large diameter g string. Is the g string...
