    Heavy Cabs...........

I have a Hard Truckers 2x15 Cabinet that weighs 105lbs. I don't use it these days, but I have it tucked away. My rig these days consists of two Agular SL112s. 25lbs each. I love these cabs! I have them paired with a Berg Forte HP. Sounds amazing.

What bass is the man Robbie Shakespeare Playing???

I've always thought these basses were weird, esp. the ones with the graphic EQ built in. Strange, I've kind of wanted one.

This is a very cool and unique bass tone. Part of the of the early 70s sound was that both Phil's basses (Gibson EB3 & Guild...

The Mediocre Bassist Club, pt. 3: MBC3

Jeez, you sound just like me. Although I could give a **** about slapping, I would like to be able to pull a short bass solo of my ass one of these days. Plus I'm old and I'm in a working band, but we haven' made any money yet. But its fun to play again.

how to get a phil lesh/sir paul sound?

Both McCartney and Lesh used a short scale bass back in the day. Pauls Hofner 500/1 is a short scale bass. Phil's modded EB3 and Guild Starfire basses (both modded by Alembic) are also both short scale. Flat wounds are required for the tone of both bassists. I use a Guild Starfire II reissues...
